Miles&Smiles is the loyalty program of Turkish Airlines. It is a Star Alliance program, which means you can use its miles on Turkish and on partner airlines. For US travelers it matters because several flexible points programs transfer to it.
Disclosure: Jetset Miles may earn a commission if you apply for a credit card through a link on this site, at no cost to you. No affiliate links are live yet. Commissions never decide which programs we cover or how we describe them. We are not a bank, airline or financial advisor. See our full disclosure.
Who it is for
Turkish Miles&Smiles is worth a look if you hold Capital One, Citi ThankYou or Bilt points and want to fly to Istanbul or beyond in business class. It is also useful if you want a Star Alliance option that is not Aeroplan. Note the gaps: Amex does not list Turkish on its US transfer page as of October 17, 2026, and Chase is not on our list for it either.
Which points transfer
| Points program | Ratio | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Capital One Miles | Listed as a partner; ratio not confirmed here | Issuer source |
| Citi ThankYou | Listed as a partner; ratio not confirmed here | Issuer source |
| Bilt Rewards | Listed as a partner; ratio not confirmed here | Issuer source |
We confirmed these relationships on the issuers' pages during earlier checks. We did not re-confirm the transfer ratios for these issuers, so the chart shows the relationship only. Check the ratio and timing in your own account before you transfer.
Step by step
- Join Miles&Smiles. Sign up on the Turkish Airlines site with the name on your card account.
- Search for the seat on turkishairlines.com. Use the award search or the program's award pages to see the miles required and any charges. Make sure the cabin you want is available on your dates.
- Look at the total cost. Add the miles you need to the taxes and fees shown. Fees can be significant on some routes and are shown before you pay.
- Transfer from your card program. Transfers are generally final. Transfer only what the booking requires.
- Book once the miles post. Confirm your ticket and the rules for changes.
Tips and pitfalls
- Award space on Turkish can be sold out far ahead on popular routes. Flexible dates help.
- Partner awards on other Star Alliance airlines can be priced differently from Aeroplan's. Compare both.
- Read the program's rules for changes, cancellations and mileage expiry before moving a large amount.
- See the Middle East route page for destinations where Turkish is a natural starting point.
What we have not verified
We do not publish Miles&Smiles award prices because the program sets them and changes them. We also have not re-confirmed the transfer ratios from Capital One, Citi or Bilt in this update.
A sample planning routine
Pick a destination Turkish serves, such as Istanbul, or a place you can reach by connecting there. Search the Miles&Smiles site for your dates and note the miles and the cash charges. Search the same trip using Aeroplan if you can, since both reach Star Alliance partners. Add up the total for each option. If Turkish wins, check which of your points programs transfers to Miles&Smiles and confirm the ratio and timing in that issuer's account. Transfer the amount you need, wait for it to post, and book. Keep screenshots of the award search results in case something changes before you complete the booking.
